In Almaty, a security guard at one of the city’s business centers talked a young woman out of committing suicide, according to a Tengrinews correspondent.
The incident occurred on September 10 at around 8:15 a.m. on a bridge located at the intersection of Satpaev and Baizakov streets. Serik Erbolov, a security guard for the company “GROUP Four,” noticed the girl’s strange behavior while on duty. He immediately reported it to his colleagues via radio and went to the scene himself.
“She was standing on the second level of the bridge, and I was below. The girl was wearing a mask and glasses, so I couldn’t see her face or emotions. I started stopping cars passing below. Then I noticed a traffic police crew, stopped them, and pointed to the girl. While they were approaching her, I tried to calm her down. I told her to reconsider, because she had parents and other relatives who would grieve if something happened to her. While we were talking, the police drove up to her and began to talk to her.
